Jinky's, It's a Party

Emerson turns 4 on the 19th,yep that's next Saturday. So, we'll be having a birthday party for him and all of his family. It's obviously going to be Scooby-Doo themed. It should be a lot of fun. See you there. (the fun begins at 1PM)

Can't Make It?

We're going to do it all over again on the 27th. This is going to be a combined birthday party for Emerson and Madeline. All of their friends and family are welcome to this shin-dig. Want to come to both? That would be great.
(the fun will begins at 11AM)
We'll keep you posted on Madeline's birthday party. She's requesting a Micky Mouse party. (she'll be 2 on the 2nd of May)

Maasai Warriors To Run London Marathon

Maasai warriors from northern Tanzania dance in London's Trafalgar Square April 7, 2008. They survive on fresh blood drained from the neck of a living cow, they often run for days and nights on end to find water and their shoes are made from car tyres cut up and strapped to their feet. So running the London Marathon should be no problem for six Maasai warriors who have come to Britain from their village of Elaui in northern Tanzania as part of a campaign to raise money to find a vital water source

HALF MARATHON PICTURES

When I started to get worn out I just repeated my mantra "solid core, thumbs to the navel".
Catching a little air.
I passed this lady at about mile 6. She passed me on an uphill at mile 8. I surged and passed her and 3 other runners a quarter of a mile before the finish line.
I held up my number one fingers when I saw the camera man. These number one fingers also caused the crowds to clang their cowbells more and clap louder. There's nothing like applause to make you run faster.
President Lincoln and I shared a congratulatory handshake.

Strongly Considering Running a Marathon

If everything goes well with my foot, I'm going to runt the Madison Marathon on May 25. That will give me 7 weeks of training starting next week. I was planning on running Chicago in October, but we are expecting again and I dont' want to be up in Chicago when Kate goes into labor. Our expected due date is November 3. I'll keep everyone updated.

Smoked my First Half Marathon Today

Well I ran my first half in 1:42:35.
My mile pace was 7:50. 25 seconds under my secret goal time.
I was 143 out of 807 total runners.
I was 15 out of 54 people in my age group (30-34).
I was 125 out of 432 male runners.

My 10 week training program really paid off.
Oh yeah, I iced my foot 30 minutes prior to race time and it was like I didn't have an injury. Adrenaline I guess.

1/2 Marathon Tomorrow

I run my half tomorrow. My ankle started hurting about 5 days ago. With some ankle high ice baths and Aleve I should be ok. I'm going for a sub 1:50 finish, so we'll see how it goes. A link to the race is below at Lincon Memorial Half Marathon
